Starting this Wednesday 10 September, line 342 of the TIB bus network, which connects the municipalities of Alaró and Consell with the Consell train station, will be extending its service. This way, users in these towns will be able to use the shuttle bus service for all train connection times. This improvement includes 2 new daily services and 6 new services for weekends and public holidays.
The Majorcan Transport Consortium (CTM) responds to the request of the Alaró Town Council to facilitate public transport mobility for the users of the municipality. This extension of frequencies is in addition to the improved service and reform of the existing stops both on Carrer Joan Alcover, within the town centre of Alaró, and in the Consell station area.
There is currently a new vehicle with greater capacity to cover the service on line 342 and it is planned to resume the service with this new bus at the end of the works that the Consell de Majorca is carrying out on the Alaró road (Ma 2022 from Avinguda de la Constitució to PK 3,740), which make it impossible to circulate and access the stops on Carrer Joan Alcover for technical reasons.
Until now, this service has been provided by a minibus, while the new vehicle will have a larger capacity. This will solve the problems of saturation of the line during peak hours on weekdays.
The Govern continues to work to improve the service and the infrastructure of interurban public transport in Majorca with the aim of guaranteeing a quality and safe service for all users.
