The shuttle bus to Es Trenc (L530 Sa Ràpita/Es Trenc beaches) was launched on 1 July. Unlike in previous seasons, this year the route is between the new Sa Barralina car park and Ses Covetes area. Up to 26 August, the service had transported 20,668 users, a figure that shows a strong growth in demand compared to the summer of 2018, when the total was 8,869 passengers.
Due to high demand and how important the service is to access the Es Trenc natural area, the Mallorca Transport Consortium has decided to continue the shuttle bus line in September. This initiative is supported by Campos Town Council, which asked for the service to be continued, given that it is a sustainable transport alternative that has alleviated traffic congestion in the Ses Covetes/Es Trenc area.
This service, operating until 30 September, will run every day at 20-minute intervals in the morning between 10.00 and 13.40, and in the afternoon between 15.00 and 18.40. Single tickets between Sa Barralina car park and Ses Covetes cost €1.50 and the usual discounts are available when using the intermodal card.
Shuttle buses are a sustainable transport alternative aimed at reducing heavy congestion in Mallorca’s natural areas during summer months. Managed by the Mallorca Transport Consortium, the measure of the Ministry for Transport and Housing makes it easier for residents and tourists alike to visit areas of tourist interest on the island.
The Formentor shuttle service (L353) will continue until 15 September and the Cala s'Almunia shuttle (L505) ends on 30 September.
