The lot 2 contract of the concession contract for the public regular and general road passenger transport service in Mallorca, signed on 10 September 2019 between the Consorcio de Transportes de Mallorca (CTM—Majorcan Transport Consortium) and Empresa Martín, S.A., includes the refurbishment of Inca bus station by the concessionaire company as the developer.
These works include altering the traffic island separating the bus platforms from the highway, enhancing and improving the platform canopy and the street furniture and completely upgrading the electricity and lighting installation. Also planned is the establishment of an independent space in the old depot with removable fittings that can be used to manage and control the station’s operation.
The initial version of the refurbishment project is already available with a contractor’s estimated cost of €178,271.37, including VAT. However, the definitive version still needs to be approved by Inca Town Council and be granted a works permit, which is currently being processed. Consequently, the definitive project may deviate from the initial design.
To perform the works, Empresa Martín, S.A. will hire a company by means of a private agreement. This company will be subject to a tender procedure governed by the principles of freedom of access to the tender, publicity and transparency of the procedures, non-discrimination and equal treatment of all candidates. The works will be put up for tender when the definitive design has been completed and the tender announcement will be published in the Boletín Oficial de las Illes Balears (Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands) and on the CTM website.
