Over 65 years old, pensioners and long-term unemployed

  • Who can have one?

    • This is for the following people:
      • Are 65 years old or over.
      • Receive a retirement pension.
      • Receive a widow's pension with income lower than the minimum wage.
      • Receive a permanent disability pension, whether for full, total or severe disability, or are 65% disabled or above.
      • Have been registered as job seekers at the SOIB continuously for more than 12 months.
  • What are its advantages?

    • You can get 50% off a ticket.
    • It allows T20 and T40 savers to be topped up.  Up to two different savers can be topped up at once (as well as a discounted ticket).

  • When does it expire?

    • Expires every five years, except for the long-term unemployed which expires every 6 months.. It can be renewed free of charge with the relevant documentation.
  • Where can I get it or renew it?

    • At the Information Point in Palma Intermodal Station
      • Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 09.00-18.30; Saturdays 09.00-17.30; closed on Sundays and public holidays
      • Issued on the spot
    • At your local town hall offices. See the list.
      • Opening hours: depends on each local office
    • IMPORTANT: When getting the intermodal card for the first time, the person who will use it must attend the issuing office personally.
  • How much is it?

    • Intermodal card issue fee:
      • First issue: €3
      • Duplicate: €8
    • The duplicate fee is not payable in the case of malfunction that is not the holder's fault.
  • What documentation is needed to get the card?

    • If the application is not made at the Intermodal Station, a passport-sized colour photo must be provided.

    a) People who are 65 or over:

    • Application form. 
    • Original and photocopy of a document proving the age of the applicant: DNI (National Identity Document), passport, driving licence or NIE.

    b) Recipients of a retirement pension:

    • Application form. 
    • Original and photocopy of a document proving the identity of the applicant: DNI (National Identity Document), passport, driving licence or NIE.
    • Original and photocopy of the certificate that confirms being the beneficiary of a retirement pension issued by the Provincial Directorate of the National Social Security Institution, by the Marine Social Institute, or the relevant body in other cases. If you are receiving a pension from a foreign country, this must be recognised by the relevant department of the Spanish government dealing with Social Security.

    c) Recipients of a widow's pension, receiving an income that is under the minimum wage:

    • Application form.
    • Original and photocopy of a document proving the identity of the applicant: DNI (National Identity Document), passport, driving licence or NIE.
    • Original and photocopy of the certificate that confirms being the beneficiary of a widow's pension issued by the Provincial Directorate of the National Social Security Institution, by the Marine Social Institute, or the relevant body in other cases.
    • Copy of the last tax return or a certificate of income from the bank.

    d) Recipients of a permanent disability pension, whether total, absolute or severe disability, or with a disability of 65% or more:

    • Application form. 
    • Original and photocopy of a document proving the identity of the applicant: DNI (National Identity Document), passport, driving licence or NIE.
    • Original and photocopy of the certificate confirming the degree of disability issued by the relevant office at the General Directorate for Family, Social Wellbeing and Help for People in Special Circumstances (Dirección General de Familia, Bienestar Social y Atención a Personas en Situación Especial), or equivalent proof.
    • If a disabled person needs help from another person to travel, the companion travels free. In this case the original and a photocopy of the certificate proving this need must be provided. This is issued by the General Directorate for the Family, Social Wellbeing and Attention for People in Special Circumstances (Dirección General de Familia, Bienestar Social y Atención a Personas en Situación Especial).

    e) People who are long-term unemployed:

    • Application form.
    • Original and photocopy of a document proving the identity of the applicant: DNI (National Identity Document), passport, driving licence or NIE.
    • Original and photocopy of the SOIB report on the uninterrupted period of time signed on as unemployed (the report must not be more than 10 calendar days old).
