The Formentor peninsula, which is 12 kilometres long and located in the Pollença municipal district, is one of the most iconic spaces and landscapes in Majorca. Formentor beach and cape are reached by the Ma-2210 road.
In spite of its terrain and apparent isolation, Formentor is an area that has been home to humans since prehistoric times and during the Roman era there was a settlement. Additionally, one of the most extensive properties on the whole island has been here since the middle ages. In 1928 Adan Diehl built a luxury residence which was later converted into the iconic Hotel Formentor, well-known because famous people, such as Winston Churchill, John Wayne and the Prince of Wales, have stayed there.
Cala Formentor offers many choices. Apart from visiting the beach, it is also possible to tour the surrounding area and enjoy the area’s landscapes and view. Trips by catamaran can also be taken to visit Formentor cape. The beach has several restaurants and parking.
