TIB is joining the campaign run by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) and the World Bank to promote safety for women on public transport: #PT4ME.
#PT4ME is a global campaign held in conjunction with International Women’s Day, 8 March, with the aim of making public transport safer and more accessible to all users. The campaign, with the slogan "For inclusive public transport: Let’s light it up!", will be visible on the train, the metro and the TIB network, with videos, posters and messages on social media.
The campaign video includes the testimonials of different women explaining situations in which they have suffered harassment or have felt unsafe on public transport.
UITP and the World Bank are working together to address gender issues on public transport. To this end they are running awareness campaigns, technical support projects and training.
