The shuttle bus to Formentor Lighthouse will run for the second year in a row with more services than last season. There will be six more journeys between the beach and Formentor Lighthouse than in 2018. This increase means the bus frequency will be every 30 minutes in both directions while the road is closed to traffic. Another journey will be added between Port de Pollença and Formentor Lighthouse.
Consequently, users have a choice of 15 outbound journeys and 16 inbound journeys from Formentor beach to the lighthouse. Eight of these journeys start in Port de Pollença and four of them are direct buses, with no transfer at Formentor beach.
The route from Port de Pollença is covered by bus line 353 with the following stops: Port de Pollença - Camp de futbol - Mirador del Colomer - Formentor platja - Cala Murta / Cala Figuera - Far de Formentor. This year a new stop will be provided on the Port de Pollença ring road, near Clara Hammerl Secondary School, so that, together with the football-field stop, it can meet demand from shuttle-bus users who park their cars in the car parks along this ring road.
The lighthouse shuttle has scheduled connections with line 352 (Can Picafort – Alcúdia beach – Port de Pollença) by changing buses in Port de Pollença.
The service begins on 15 June, the date on which traffic restrictions come into effect on the Formentor peninsula, and it will run until 15 September.
The shuttle bus service of the Government of the Balearic Islands, managed by the Mallorca Transport Consortium (CTM), is a sustainable mobility alternative that aims to reduce heavy congestion in Mallorca’s natural areas during summer months. That is why we also have the s'Almunia shuttle bus, running since last Saturday, and the es Trenc shuttle bus, which will start on 1 July.
