This afternoon at the Palma Intermodal Station, the Minister of Housing, Territory and Mobility, José Luis Mateo, awarded the prizes for the second edition of the Tibmetratges competition. This amateur short video competition organised by the Majorcan Transport Consortium and concessionary company Moventis, which gives voice public transport users, explaining short stories that unfold during journeys on buses, trains or the metro.
Minister Mateo, together with Mobility Director, Lorena del Valle; Managing Director of the Majorcan Transport Consortium, Luisa Serra; Director of Moventis, Ramon Palau, and Manager of Moventis Islands, Iván Tizón, presented the prizes to the winners of this second edition of the Tibmetratges competition, presenting sixteen short films that made visible real or imaginary stories set in the TIB interurban public transport network.
The first prize went to short film Enllaç, by Pau Sánchez and Danny DeVega; second place went to Connexions, by Antoni Tornero; and Jo som aquí, by August Cortés, came in third. All the participating videos can be seen at tibmetratges.net.
The Minister concluded the event and ensured that the Government will continue working to promote public transport, adding that: "We are committed to more sustainable public transport that is adapted to the needs of all citizens. We have improved with more trains and more buses. We have improved frequencies, routes and capacity to respond to real demand. We want you to feel that public transport is yours and that we can continue to add stories like the ones you have created with your short films".
Today's event also saw the prize awarded to the winner of the "Com s'hi va" game competition, which took place during the GOIB Trade Fair on 1 and 2 March with 132 visitors taking part.
An e-book was raffled off among all participants and the Managing Director of the Majorcan Transport Consortium entrusted with presenting the prize to the winner, José Vicente Forteza.
