It isn't necessary. The driver is obliged to stop at a bus stop if there are people waiting.
You should wait for the bus at the stop corresponding to the route you wish to use. If there are people waiting at the bus stop, the driver is obliged to stop.
You must press the stop button well in advance so that the driver can stop safely.
The general rule is to board at the front door. You may only enter via another entrance when expressly authorised to do so by company staff.
You should exit through the rear doors. People with reduced mobility may exit through the front door after asking the driver.
Drivers are not permitted to make stops other than at official stops, nor to open the doors once the vehicle has resumed moving.
Passengers must board in the order in which they are queuing at the bus stop. Bags, backpacks, or other objects do not hold a place in line. Waiting while seated on the stop's street furniture does not reserve a spot either, except for people with reduced mobility.
Each person may only occupy one seat. It is not permitted to place bags, rucksacks, pet carriers or other items on a seat, nor to reserve seats for people who are not yet on the bus.
Yes, provided that the service allows it and the vehicle meets the necessary technical and legal requirements.
Where seats are available, users should sit down. You are not allowed to move about inside the vehicle whilst it is in motion. If you are travelling standing up, you must hold on to the safety handrails provided for this purpose. It is strictly forbidden to sit on the floor or on the steps of the bus.
Older adults, people with physical, visual or cognitive disabilities, pregnant women, people carrying babies, and anyone who is unable to travel safely whilst standing.
People with reduced mobility continue to have priority when it comes to seating, and people with full mobility must give up their seats for them. The driver is responsible for ensuring this right is respected.
Children under 4 may travel without a ticket or fare payment, provided they do not occupy a seat, travel on the lap of their accompanying adult, and their age can be verified via an official document.
The minimum age for travelling unaccompanied on the TIB network is 12. Children under the age of 12 must travel under the supervision of an accompanying adult, who must not leave the child’s side when boarding or alighting from the bus.
Yes, you may travel with a pet — dogs, cats, ferrets and small birds other than poultry — provided it is carried in a closed carrier with maximum dimensions of 48 × 35 × 31 centimetres and does not pose a danger or cause a nuisance (odour, noise, etc.) to other passengers. Only one pet carrier is permitted per person; it must be placed at the feet of or on the lap of the accompanying person and must not, under any circumstances, occupy a seat.
Assistance dogs are exempt from the requirement to travel in a carrier. Passengers are permitted to board the bus with an assistance dog provided they show the driver the certificate — issued by the relevant public authority — containing the user’s personal details, the dog’s details and those of the training centre, as well as a photograph of both. View full information regarding regulations for assistance dogs.
Luggage or bags must be stowed in the areas specifically designated for this purpose on the bus, without obstructing the aisle or the doors. The passenger assumes full responsibility for transporting their luggage. The CTM and operating companies are not liable for any loss, theft or damage to luggage.
Hand luggage (bags, rucksacks, parcels or small items) must not exceed 55 × 35 × 25 centimetres and must be placed under the seat in front or in the overhead compartment.
In addition to hand luggage, each person may carry one additional item. The conditions for carrying suitcases, bicycles, pushchairs and other items depend on the type of bus operating the service.
Special, very large or bulky items of luggage — such as large musical instruments, sports and leisure equipment, bicycles carried in boxes or bags, or shopping trolleys — may only be carried on the bus if authorised by the driver, subject to space availability and for operational reasons.
No. Transporting electric scooters and other personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) is prohibited.
You are entitled to continue your journey in a replacement vehicle. In this case, you must validate your exit on the broken-down bus, but you will not need to purchase or validate a ticket on the replacement bus.
The train and metro service on the TIB network is operated by Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM), a public body under the authority of the regional ministry responsible for transport.
Passengers who already hold a Targeta Intermodal do not need to take any further action, as this card is fully valid for travel on trains, metro, regional buses (the TIB network) and Palma’s city buses (EMT), and works in exactly the same way as the new Targeta Única.
Find all the information here.
On TIB buses, you must validate your Targeta Única / Intermodal both when boarding and when alighting. On the rail network, you must validate it to enter and exit stations.
If the card is not validated correctly, a penalty of €0.30 will be applied and the corresponding fare will be charged for the remainder of the journey.
On EMT Palma buses, you only need to validate your card when boarding.
If you hold a Targeta Única / Intermodal, you can quickly and easily download your travel history from the "TIB i tu" user area, provided you supplied an email address when your profile was registered in our database.
You can view the manual and download it here.
If your details are not up to date, you must visit a TIB office to update them.
If you are still unable to download it, you can request its issuance at the Palma Intermodal Station by making an appointment.

To board TIB buses, the bank card must be validated once for each member of the group, up to a maximum of five people. However, when alighting, it only needs to be validated once.
On TIB buses, you must validate your bank card both when boarding and alighting, using the same device in both instances - whether it is the physical card, a mobile phone, or a smartwatch.
On the rail network, it must be validated when entering and exiting stations.
Remember that if you wish to transfer, you must use the same payment device for the entire journey.
If the ticket is not validated correctly, a penalty of €0.30 per person will be applied and the corresponding fare will be charged for the remainder of the journey.
On EMT Palma buses, you only need to validate your card when boarding.

Your journey fares will be charged to your account in the days following your journey.
Please bear in mind that this process is carried out automatically in the early hours of the morning and multiple trips may be grouped into a single charge.
The amount of €20 may be a pre-authorisation or hold placed by your bank to verify that the card is active.
This amount is typically released automatically within a maximum of 14 days once the final charge for the journey has been processed.
If this does not happen, you should contact your bank, as they are responsible for pre-authorisations and holds.
You can pay the driver directly in cash, using banknotes of up to €20.
This ticket is valid only for the journey on the route you are currently using and does not allow for transfers to other routes.
