The TIB bus network improves early-morning commuting for residents of Manacor, Pla and Migjorn

The first departure of line 401 from Manacor has been brought forward to 5.30 a.m.
Line 501 has a new express service between Palma and Campos at 6.45 a.m.

From Monday, 29 April, two service extensions of the TIB bus network will be put into operation with the aim of improving the mobility of residents of several municipalities in Mallorca who have to travel early in the morning for work reasons.

On the one hand, it meets the needs of residents to be able to commute to work in Palma using public transport before 7 a.m. The first departure of TIB line 401 from Manacor to Palma via Vilafranca, Montuïri and Algaida will now be earlier, at 5.30 a.m. Therefore, users who, for example, work in the Son Castelló industrial estate will be able to get off at the Aragón-Can Capes 1 bus stop and transfer to the Son Costa- Son Fortesa metro station to continue their journey until to reach work before 7.00 am.

On the other hand, line 501 now has a 6.45 a.m. express service between Palma and Campos, which coincides with the departure of a second bus that makes the complete Palma-Llucmajor-Campos-Felanitx-Manacor route. This will increase the line's seating capacity and passenger comfort.

These improvements improve two of the most popular trunk lines between the Llevant, Pla and Migjorn areas and the city of Palma, thus completing the service improvements launched during the winter season, which has resulted in increased passenger numbers. During the November to March period compared to the same period last season, the number of passengers on line 401 increased by 76% and on line 501 by 60%.

The Consorcio de Transportes de Mallorca continues to work to promote the use of public transport among the island's residents and to meet the mobility needs of workers who have to commute to work on a daily basis.
