The TIB bus network adds more services with the launch of five new lines on the Llevant coast and in the north of Mallorca

In the coming days, the TIB intercity bus network will start running five lines, which will improve public transport in the coastal municipalities of Son Servera, Sant Llorenç, Manacor, Felanitx, Santanyí, Alcúdia and Pollença. These improvements will add to the ones implemented at the end of March with the early start of the additional summer season services.

These five lines, on the Llevant coast and in the north of Mallorca, boost the summer season improvement launched on 22 March. There will be more frequent services on 24 lines,11 new lines will start, and a new line 131 to Serra de Tramuntana (Santa Ponça —Banyalbufar—Granja de Esporles) will start running.

Of the five lines that will start operating in the next few days, the first to enter service on Friday, 26 April, will be line 521, connecting Cala Mondragó and Cala d'Or via Sa Barca Trencada and Portopetro.

From Thursday, 2 May, Cala Bona, Cala Millor, Sa Coma, S'Illot and Porto Cristo will improve connectivity with the start of service on line 425. Line 428 will start on the same day, carrying passengers between Porto Cristo and Cala d'Or. This time the service will also include a new service to the Cala Tropicana tourist development.

Also on 2 May, the service to the Alcúdia area will be enhanced with the start of line 323, Alcúdia - Alcanada, with a stop at the maritime station. This will establish the connection between the TIB network and the boat services in Menorca. Line 334 between Alcúdia and Formentor beach will also start operating.

During the road closure between 1 June and 30 September, the route to the Formentor lighthouse will be extended, and it will run far more frequently.

The Transport Consortium continues to work to add improvements that will benefit all users of the interurban public transport network.

This reinforcement for the high season months is a continuation of the improvements made by the Government to the TIB network bus timetables last winter, when the service was improved on 27 lines compared to the previous winter season.

During this period, the number of bus journeys on the TIB network between November and February increased by 55.93% compared to the same period last season.
