This afternoon at the Palma Intermodal Station, the Minister of Housing, Territory and Mobility, Marta Vidal, awarded the prizes for the inaugural edition of the Tibmetratges competition. This amateur short video contest was conceived to voice public transport users' experiences and narrate the short stories that unfold during journeys on buses, trains, or the metro.
The initiative is spearheaded by the Government of the Balearic Islands, through the Consorci de Transports de Mallorca, and in collaboration with Moventis, the company managing the intercity bus service in the Ponent area.
Minister Vidal, joined by Moventis' General Director Joan Giménez, and Manager Ivan Tizón, presented awards to the victors of this first Tibmetratges competition.
The first prize went to the short film Perdona, em pots ajudar?,by Miquel Cabot; second place went to Breu, by Amaro Seoane, and Sí, puedo, made by third-year students of the Audiovisual Communication degree at CESAG, came in third.
The Minister concluded the event and ensured that the Government will continue to commit to enhancing public and sustainable transportation. She added: “We will persevere in our efforts to provide a service that meets the mobility needs of all Mallorca users and to ensure that travelling by bus, train, or metro on the TIB network remains the best choice for their daily travel.”

In this inaugural edition, ten short films were showcased, bringing to light both real and fictional narratives set within the TIB's interurban public transportation network. From making new travelling companions, as we have seen in the short film Perdona, em pots ajudar?,to experiencing first crushes in Breu, Dins la nostra ment or Tren del amor.
In the short film Sí, puedo, a real issue such as agoraphobia is explained with images. And in El camí invisible que recorrem, in Garfiled a Sóller or Saturday Cycling Mallorca we discover how to travel by public transport and how far we can go. The Tour Mallorca proposal shows how a group of colleagues use the TIB to explore villages on the island while resolving an interpersonal conflict. And with Records del Fantasio we remember and rediscover the Fantasio cinema in Sóller with the testimony of Juan Reynés.
